Sustainability at Amsler & Frey Ltd

"Environmental protection, social responsibility and good corporate governance". This is how many companies define their sustainability. We also offer directly applicable solutions for practical use, test materials and only stock perfectly machinable semi-finished products.

We now stand for more than a dozen semi-finished products made from recycled/regenerated materials:

PE500 & PE1000 (Polyethylene), black

Both PE qualities made from recyclate are available in several sheet thicknesses (e.g. 10-20-30-40 mm).

Both recycled qualities are made from PIR (Post Industrial Recyclate).

The term PIR is used for material that is created and reused during the manufacturing process. These recyclates are of the same pure, high and consistent quality as the original material. The exact requirements for PIR material are defined in DIN EN ISO 14021:2016.

By using PIR materials, companies can reduce their environmental impact (carbon footprint) as fewer raw materials are required and offcuts are turned back into new products.

On request, we can plane your PE plastic cut to the tightest tolerances. This improves parallelism and ensures more accurate dimensions.

PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate), transparent

Recycled acrylic glass (colloquially known as Plexiglas) forms the basis - high-quality PMMA brand quality is the result.

These products consist of approx. 90 per cent recycled raw material - and impress with the proven quality of the original, such as

  • high resistance to weathering and ageing
  • break resistance (safety) and much lighter weight than glass
  • Simple and versatile processing
  • very good bondability

This environmentally friendly material is available as a transparent solid sheet (clear) in thicknesses of 3 mm, 5 mm or 8 mm.

POM-C (polyoxymethylene copolymer), black

POM-C is a very rigid and strong thermoplastic material.

It is often used for turned and milled parts with tight tolerances. Also for parts with particularly high optical requirements.

We provide recycled sheets in thicknesses of 10, 20 and 40 mm.

Solid rods made from recyclate in diameters of 50 and 100 mm.
